Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Frichie app (“Frichie”, “we”, “us”). By using Frichie, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
1. What Frichie is
Frichie is a personal-finance tool that reads your bank’s SMS messages on your device, organises them into spending, and helps you budget. Frichie is read-only: it can see transactions you share with it, and it cannot move money, make payments, or access your bank accounts.
2. Not financial advice
Frichie helps you see and organise your spending. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Decisions you make based on the app are your own.
3. Accuracy
Frichie parses and categorises messages automatically and may be wrong or incomplete. You are responsible for verifying anything important against your bank’s own records. We provide the app “as is” without warranties of accuracy or completeness.
4. Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your device and sign-in secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country (and at least 13, or the local minimum). Don’t misuse the app, attempt to break its security, or use it unlawfully.
5. Your data
Your use of Frichie is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what stays on your device and the limited, redacted data that leaves it. You own your data; you can export or delete it as described there.
6. Subscriptions and payments
If Frichie offers a paid plan, it is billed through the Apple App Store under Apple’s terms. Prices, renewal, free-trial length, and cancellation are shown at purchase and managed in your App Store account. Beta testers may be grandfathered per separate notice.
7. Third-party services
Frichie relies on third parties for limited functions — for example Apple iCloud (sync), the Claude model by Anthropic (categorisation of redacted snippets), and logo/search providers (merchant logos), as described in the Privacy Policy. Their handling of the limited data they receive is governed by their own terms.
8. Changes to the app and these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date; continued use after a change means you accept it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Frichie is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from inaccurate parsing or categorisation. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
