Terms of Use
AI reading, in short
When you sign in, you agree to these terms, including AI reading of your masked bank messages:
- Card numbers, balances, codes and names are removed on your iPhone first.
- Google's Gemini reads the masked message — it doesn't train on it.
- You can turn AI reading off anytime in Settings.
If you turned AI reading off on your iPhone, signing in leaves it off. "What exactly is sent", on the sign-in screen, and the Privacy Policy explain it in full.
1. Definitions
"Frichie", "we" and "us" mean the Frichie service: the app for iPhone, our server and frichie.com. "You" means the person using Frichie. By signing in to or using Frichie you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be 16 or older, and 18 or older in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Use Frichie only with your own bank messages, statements and screenshots, or ones you have permission to use.
3. Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
4. Acceptable use
Don't:
- try to break, bypass or overload Frichie's limits, checks or servers;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the app or our server, except where the law allows it;
- send content that isn't a bank message or statement through the reading feature on purpose;
- use Frichie for anything unlawful.
5. Your data and your account
Your transactions, budgets and messages are yours. They stay on your iPhone and in your private iCloud; the Privacy Policy explains what our server receives and keeps. You can export or delete your data at any time.
You need an account to use Frichie: you sign in with Apple, Google or e-mail. The account also lets your subscription follow you to another iPhone signed in to the same account (up to 5 iPhones at a time). Keep access to the Apple Account, Google account or e-mail address you sign in with: it is how you get back into your account. Your transactions, bank messages and shop names are never linked to your account.
6. AI outputs — not financial advice
Frichie is an automated personal financial organisation and budgeting tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal or other professional advice. Frichie is not a bank, payment provider, lender, broker, investment firm or licensed financial adviser. Any budgets, categorisations, calculations, estimates or other information provided by Frichie are for general informational purposes only and may contain errors.
Frichie's AI reads your bank messages to sort them. Card numbers are masked first. Your iPhone checks every amount against the message before anything is filed. If it can't confirm the amount, the message waits for you. The AI can still put a transaction in the wrong category or miss a message, so check your transactions and budgets, and don't rely on Frichie as your only record.
Any zakat figure Frichie shows is an estimate for information and planning only. It does not determine whether you must pay zakat and is not religious, legal, tax or financial advice; rules differ between scholars, and Frichie does not track your hawl. For your own zakat, consult a qualified adviser.
7. Fair use
Frichie reads your first 5 bank messages free, before you subscribe. Each subscription includes a one-time allowance for reading past messages and statements: about 500 rows in all, of which about 150 during the free trial and the rest after your first paid period. Rows your iPhone reads on its own don't count, and the allowance doesn't reset. We may limit or stop service to an install or account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.
8. Fees and subscriptions
- Plans. Frichie Plus is AED 29.99 a month or AED 199.99 a year. The App Store shows the price, including any VAT, before you buy; other countries see it in local currency.
- Free trial. Each plan starts with a 1-month free trial, once per Apple Account. It is offered after your first read and starts when you subscribe in the App Store.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Price changes. Apple tells you before a new price applies and, where the rules require it, asks you to agree.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds. Apple handles payments and refunds under its own terms, through reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Deleting your data doesn't cancel your subscription.
9. Intellectual property
Frichie, its name, design and software belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you no other rights in them.
10. Third-party services
Frichie relies on Apple (App Store, iCloud, Sign in with Apple), Google (Sign in with Google), AI providers and other services named in the Privacy Policy. Their own terms apply to them, and we are not responsible for their services.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Frichie and isn't responsible for any claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If Frichie fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Availability
Frichie may sometimes be unavailable or slower, for example while the AI providers are busy. When reading is paused, your messages are kept on your iPhone and read later.
13. Disclaimers
Frichie is provided as is and as available, without any warranty that it will be error-free, to the extent the law allows.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent UAE law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on information in Frichie. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Frichie in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.
15. Termination
You can stop using Frichie at any time: delete the app, or first use Settings › Delete my data to erase your data, and cancel any subscription with Apple.
You can delete your account at any time. Delete account (Settings › Account) removes the account record and signs you out everywhere. It does not delete the data on your iPhone or in your iCloud unless you also choose Delete my data, and it does not cancel your subscription. We may close an account that breaks these terms. An account that no iPhone is signed in to and no subscription is linked to is deleted 18 months after it was last used. To use Frichie again after your account is deleted, you sign in again.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction. This is without prejudice to the mandatory consumer rights of the country where you live, or your right to complain to an authority there.
17. Changes
When we change these terms, we update the date above and tell you in the app. If you keep using Frichie after a change, the new terms apply. If a change affects how your messages are read, the app asks you to agree again first.
18. Entire agreement and severability
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Frichie. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are in English and Arabic; if they differ, the English applies unless your local law requires otherwise.
